UX Leadership & Research

About me

I’m a Senior UX Researcher with over a decade of experience, mentoring junior colleagues, leading cross-functional teams, and partnering with C-level stakeholders. My work has delivered measurable outcomes, including an 8% uplift in sales and a 10% reduction in service requests.

Over the past ten years I’ve supported organisations of many kinds, from luxury retailers to NHS trusts, helping them turn insight into action. My approach blends behavioural science, systems thinking, and design empathy. I’ve scaled research practices across global platforms, supported limited-time launches, and helped teams shift from opinion-driven to evidence-informed decision-making.

Leadership and Mentoring

Alongside hands-on research, I have taken on leadership responsibilities that balanced delivery with mentoring and strategy. Across my career I have mentored five junior researchers and designers, and led cross-functional teams of up to five people, often bridging marketing, product, design, and development.

In my current role as Deputy Head of UX, I partner with heads of department and, on occasion, C-level stakeholders to shape digital strategy, campaigns, and research priorities. In earlier roles I co-authored personalisation strategies and user journeys, and directed a six-person project team to redesign multiple B2C and B2B websites. I have also managed medium project budgets, aligning investment with user and business needs.

Beyond the workplace, I was selected for the Nielsen Norman Group UXC Mentorship Programme (2024), where I provided one-to-one mentorship to a UX professional on developing a strategic design mindset and aligning UX initiatives with business goals.

These experiences have given me a foundation in organisational leadership: mentoring individuals, guiding teams, and aligning senior stakeholders around evidence-based decisions.

What I Do Best

Strategic UX Research:
From moderated testing to analytics-backed journey mapping, I turn research into a reliable input for product, content, and marketing.

Cross-Functional Enablement:
I don’t work in isolation. I embed within teams, influence roadmaps, and operationalise insight-sharing across departments.

Accessible, Inclusive Design:
Accessibility isn’t an afterthought. I’ve led WCAG-compliant redesigns, audited journeys with real users, and built scalable accessibility into platform foundations.

Service Design & Systems Thinking:
Whether it’s a B2B portal, a luggage service desk, or an education booking tool, I bring coherence to multi-touchpoint experiences.

Before the UK: My Foundations in Italy

Before transitioning to UX in the UK, I built my career as a Senior Graphic Designer in Italy, where I developed a deep respect for minimalist design and architectural thinking.

I worked with AG Fronzoni, a renowned Italian designer, theorist, and educator known for his minimalist philosophy that blended graphic design, architecture, and industrial design into a disciplined, essentialist practice. His teachings around form, space, and essentialism became a lifelong influence.

I then worked at a renowned Italian lighting design company known for collaborating with some of the most visionary and award-winning architects of our time. There, I contributed to large-scale projects for major public institutions and high-end fashion houses, focusing on experiential storytelling and spatial clarity.

Parallel to this, I worked within multidisciplinary agencies serving international automotive clients. I also developed brand identities and customer experiences in the hospitality and food service sector, collaborating on digital and print projects for travel hubs, chef-led venues, and HoReCa environments.

In the luxury space, I partnered with a leading yacht manufacturer to craft narrative-driven design experiences that reflected premium aesthetics and precision engineering. I also had the opportunity to contribute to high-concept store design systems for two of Italy’s most iconic fashion brands, where craftsmanship and brand heritage were essential to the storytelling process.

These years grounded me in visual precision, systems thinking, and a cross-disciplinary approach that continues to inform my UX work today.

Photography

Outside of UX, I have a deep personal practice in photography, one that informs how I see, think, and design. I approach photography as a form of exploration: a space to slow down, compose deliberately, and observe closely.

My work has been recognised internationally, with honourable mentions from Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3), the International Photography Awards (IPA), and features in LensCulture.

Photography compliments my UX practice by honing my eye for visual balance, narrative flow, and the emotional tone of a frame, skills I bring into every interface, journey, and system I help design, bringing with me a deep foundation in design and a drive to apply those principles to digital products that create lasting impact.
